God promises us that He will not forsake us nor never leave us(Deuteronomy 31:6) says “Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God(Jehovah), He it is that doth go with thee;He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Sometimes as people in this world we can feel often very alone. I heard this morning on the radio that atleast 80% of folks feel as if they have no consistent outlet or person with which they can share their burdens or sorrows and that no wonder our society is so ill with depression and anxiety which often times leads to drug abuse or addiction as well as mental illness and or suicide. We as a people loved by God do not have to feel this way. We as Christians have a duty, an obligation if you will to reach out when we see someone else’s needs. You never know what a gift of a egg McMuffin and a smile to a stranger can do for someone’s life that might be secretly thinking they have no life left to live. God shares everything He has with us even though we’re not worthy He says in (John 6:35) “”I am the bread of life, He that comeths to me shall not hunger, He that believeth on me shall never thirst.” God promises us that His love and mercy is sufficient for each one of us to draw from His strength to not only pull ourselves up from poverty but to help our brothers and sisters up. We think so often that we have to save what we have in case of emergency or hard times but Jesus tells us NOT to do this. He says in the book of Matthew (my favorite) “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.” I’m thinking how mighty God must be that He can tear the veil for us to enter into His kingdom but He assures us that no thief can come into our heavenly homes to take what God has helped us to build and SAVE!!!
Jesus further warns us not to worry about what we might be giving up or “losing” to this life if we turn over what “we have” to God because I’m going to tell ya God can do anything He wants….He’s God!! But He is righteous, He reminds us in (Matthew 6:25-34)not to worry about the things that we would have to eat or be clothed by…God alone is our provision. He makes every gift manifest by His will…nothing borrowed or gained that will stand. Nothing other than the firm foundation of Gods will…what we try to build for ourselves without God will always fall away from us. He says” Therefore I say to you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body more than raiment?”
God advised us that we should share what we have with one another (Matthew 5:40-42) says “And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let Him have thy cloak also.” God promises us that anything in this life that is given up to His Glory by His children for His names sake will be REPLACED many times over!!! This is God’s magnification of His word to His people, God doesn’t lie and He keeps His promises in (Matthew 6:33-34) He says very plainly “But seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and His righteousness and all these things shall be ADDED unto you. Take therefore NO THOUGHT for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” People not even the fabric of our days are righteous before Gods throne. All of His creation is of SPIRIT. We have to listen to Him because He’s our Father and knows what we need versus what we want for ourselves. I’m NO exception to this rule!!! I’ve been having this struggle for some time myself but I’m praying everyday for myself and you too that we can get this one under our belts. God bless us, Amen.
